The former plant manager for the Opelika, Alabama, parts manufacturer Benteler Automotive, Sharon Claxton Bommer holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. She also has a strong background in engineering, which includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee State University in Nashville and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. While working toward these degrees, Sharon C. Bommer conducted research into probabilistic design methodology and cognitive models under the sponsorship of NASA and the Air Force Research Laboratory. After earning her master’s degree in 2013, Ms. Bommer was awarded a graduate fellowship to continue her engineering education at Wright State University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy with a concentration in Industrial and Human Systems. If all goes according to schedule, Ms. Bommer will graduate from Wright State with a terminal engineering degree in May of 2015.
